I had somehow misplaced my journal after taking it on a family trip. I was inspired to quickly find it after watching a documentary on Anne Frank at school. How grateful I am to have been touched by her story. She inspired me at 11years old to always keep writing...and to keep track of my journal!

I'm sorry I've not written in you in a long time...I've been missing you. You got lost when we went on our trip.
The real thing that urged me to look for you was watching a movie called, "Diary of Anne Frank."
I was touched by the story.

Here are photos of me on the left and Anne on the right; both 11 years old.
Her photo was taken just two years before she went into hiding. My heart aches at what she endured as a young girl compared to my blessed life of religious freedom.

| I later read "Diary of Anne Frank", the publication of her writings. I loved reading every detail and could barely put it down! What a treasure that she kept a journal during her period of hiding and that it was preserved for us to read, experience and learn from the past. | | |
