As I have been searching through my journals, I decided to organize and label them to make it easier for me to search and find my life's experiences. As you can see, I have them labelled, but not yet organized. They are still pretty much thrown into the box.
Going back through my life is quite interesting. I read entries that bring fond memories to life, even finding myself laughing out loud! Then there are the times of trial and hardship which are more difficult to read. Sometimes I turn the pages more quickly and skip certain periods because I do not wish to go there. However, as I continue, I am able to relish in my triumphs over difficult times and reflect on my successes which gives me strength for today and my future.
I am so grateful for taking the time and making it a habit to write over the years. It is never too late to start. If I can inspire anyone to buy a blank book and pick up a pen and write, I will be thrilled. Things that seem mundane to you now, will be interesting to those who come after you. When I tell my kids how we had to do all our planning for the weekend at school or make all our phone calls before leaving the house to go out, they are shocked! They don't believe anything could be organized without the use of mobile phones and social media! Life without texting! Unimaginable to them!
My kids have a couple of weeks of summer left, so I may not be posting as regularly as I started. I will again, regain my consistency the beginning of September. I have some really great stories to share!
